A spokesperson for the English Defence League has confirmed that the far-right organisation has written to Disney and demanded that the studio removes Darth Vader’s helmet from all past and future releases of Star Wars movies.

According to the EDL official Gareth Fuch-Weet, the traditional Sith armour is a security risk as ‘there could be anyone under there.’

He added, ‘A lot of people have accused us of being narrow-minded over our campaign to ban the burqa, and so we want the public to realise that we are ideologically against all forms of public face coverings.’

‘Well other than when we demonstrate in public, but that’s different.’

‘That guy from Ghostbusters in Spaceballs has one on as well, and he fired a laser into this guy’s knackers under this veil of anonymity.’
