A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace has confirmed ahead of the Royal Wedding that Harry and Meghan will be officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Essex once their married life begins.
While Hadleigh Castle will be their official place of residence, overlooking the Thames Estuary, it is also thought that a high-security holiday home will shortly be constructed on Canvey seafront.
A source has also hinted that the duchess will be wearing a pair of white diamanté stilettos to walk down the aisle today, where she will be given away by the duo of Sir David Amess and James Duddridge.
A friend of the happy couple said, ‘Harry and Meghan took a secret holiday in Southend in 2016, and they were immediately blown away by the array of amusement arcades, doughnut outlets and visible signs of inbreeding in the indigenous population.’
‘An excursion to Basildon was a bit of a let down however. Harry popped off for two minutes to have a wander around Sports Direct and by the time he got back Meghan was up on bricks.’
