A new Royal Navy ship that has been named HMS Brexit set sail for the first time this morning.

The name for the ‘supply and support’ vessel was chosen by the government in an attempt to boost public confidence in our nation’s departure from the European Union.

A representative for the Department For Exiting The European Union said, ‘Today’s big launch was a complete success.’

‘We had a couple of minor teething issues to overcome before she hit the waves for the very first time, but in many ways she is a metaphor for the entire process that she has been named after.’

‘It just keeps lurching to the right for some reason and we can’t stop it.’
