A group of hotels on the Costa Del Sol in Spain have confirmed that they will be installing a VAR system to assist in any sunbed towel related disputes from August 2018.
Carlos Carlos is manager of the Solcampbal chain of hotels that are located all along the iconic coastline, and he told Southend News Network that the trial will be brought forward after he received intelligence that there may be a higher than expected influx of German tourists from the end of June.
He said, ‘The system is revolutionary. We have a rule that no sunbeds can be reserved until 8am, and during our first test we picked up more than twenty people who flouted this rule.’
‘One tourist even travelled to the resort three weeks before his holiday was due to commence in order to lay down six towels for his entire family.’
‘As an added bonus, it will also provide with video evidence whenever a British tourist wanders up to the poolside bar and says ‘dos servezzers please Juan, danky thanks.’
